About the Poem

In about 5 months, I'll be leaving for college, and my boyfriend has the impression that I am going to forget him. I wrote him this poem to let me know how I feel about him and why I know this isn't just another run of the mill relationship...just in case you're wondering...we're engaged :)

Forgotten

I don't understand your hurt,
and I wish you knew mine,
because I'd sooner shed tears of blood
than leave you behind

You've found my center
and it feels perfect with you there
You're more than true love
you're answer to my sweetest prayer

I won't be gone long
and you'll be in my dreams
just hold me in your memory
the time is shorter than it seems
