I wrote this poem when I was sent to a boarding school far from home. It helped me to deal with the fact that I didn't even get to say goodbye to the people that I loved.
I think my biggest fear is that
you won't notice that I'm gone,
That it won't hurt to be without me,
That you'll be just fine on your own.
And I'll just sit in here without you,
And my heart will die inside.
You'll be off some where truly living
While I sit in here and cry.
'Cause I loved you more than I let on,
And now I'm out of time to show you.
Six months in our lives is so long -
When I come home will I know you?
