About the Poem
I wrote this poem after spending a day reading magazines. I was stressed from school and I started reading articles on gangs, the handicapped, etc... I then came to realize that everyone has problems. It wouldn't be life if you didn't.
Victims |
| by Heather Miller |
To the athletic boy,
The pressure of masculinity.
To the teenage girl,
The pressure of sexual behavior.
To the mentally retarded,
The fear of disturbing comments.
To the young gang member,
A sense of self.
To the student on campus,
A sense of identity.
To the serial killer,
The blame of consciousness.
Are we strangers?
Or do we live the same secret?
Are we out of control?
Or are we just victims?
Victims of life...
