What Did You Expect?

You came into my life
As quickly as you left.
You grabbed a cutting knife
And sliced right through my breast.

You didn't mean to hurt
But what did you expect?

My heart now cut in two
It feels beyond repair.
Injury done by you
God, life just isn't fair.

You didn't mean to hurt

So here we are, just friends,
But I long to be more.
Desire with no end
Throbbing from my core.

I really liked this poem. I've read so many and feel as if I can relate to every one but this one touched me on a certain level. It says every thing simply but decorated.

How do you describe it when something touches your heart but yet no tears fall? this poem did that to me. i have been crying for the last hour and i'am out of tears. and when i read this poem, it hit me like a ton of bricks. He said he didn't want to hurt me, but he lied even to himself. i will be fine someday, but till then, i'll have this poem to look back on.

I loved your work. It describes how my ex must feel. I did to him what they did to you. I mean. wow. I just wish I loved him. But hey, Ig uess some things weren't meant to be. Im so lost and I feel so bad, I cry to myself at night. I just hope that you can get over it, just like I hope my ex can too. I just hope he meant it when he said He didn't mean to hurt you. Like I did that day.

Oh my. My, my, my! When I read this it brought tears to my eyes. This poems is exactly how I feel right now at this point in my life, b/c he said he didn't mean to hurt me. sometimes a tear wont help. sometimes lots of tears dont make hurt go away. Sometimes just to know others feel the same way will bring warmth to your heart & soul. You are right, Pain does hurt. What did you expect . Its something Im in all too well. In fact its too deep to go into words, having a soul mate torn from you when you are helpless! Having a culture cutting you in half. Bless your words, for its pain of the past. I wish you all comfort and strenth for its so hard to get over it all .

This happend to me not to long ago, i was smitten for this guy, and then he said that he didint think we should be together any more. He also said that he didnt mean to hurt me. I love this poem because it is exactly what i have been trying to say. Excellent =D
