About the Poem

This poem was written on Valentine's day of '99, the product of a year's worth of torment from a relationship that ended prematurely. I don't know if I'll ever be able to move on.

Falling

Still falling . . .
floating free
motionless spinning
within her gravity

My black hole heart
devours both moon and stars
I absorb her light
and am left empty

Darkness approaching
Eclipse beginning
The solstice of my sadness
Rotates on its axis
