About the Poem

I wrote this after I broke up with my first love. I don't regret it, but it was certainly one of the hardest things that I've ever had to do.

Goodbye

Watching the stars
fade from the sky,
the leaves falling down,
the robin's last cry,
the grass turning brown,
I utter a sigh.
The hardest part
when watching love die,
is whispering softly
the final "goodbye".
