About the Poem

I wrote this after I broke up with my first love. I don't regret it, but it was certainly one of the hardest things that I've ever had to do.

Goodbye

Watching the stars
fade from the sky,
the leaves falling down,
the robin's last cry,
the grass turning brown,
I utter a sigh.
The hardest part
when watching love die,
is whispering softly
the final "goodbye".

I think ur poem was Fantasty! u did a great job and it does hurt like charisma said it happened to me to when i was 17 years old i was in love with a boy and i moved to a different high school. But, the boy didn't die. I still have feelings for him but, i lost him because now he's with some other girl named Jamie. Which i hate? because i want him back and im gonna get him back definitely and i wont lose him again. But, anyway great poem excellent it really also touched my heart to just like Donna said congrats on that!

i know how it feels... to say goodbye to your first love... it still hurts now... but i guess we all have to learn to let go... it's a wonderful poem... short yet filled with more meaning than any lengthy essay could produce... i'm glad i chanced upon your poem... for it touched my heart...
