About the Poem

Grasping and trying really hard to remember and keep the memory of our last night together. Before everything I held dear and everything I believed in came crashing down around us. Before I had to pick up the pieces of my broken heart. Before I had to let you go to where she is and be happy for you.

Last Night

Let me remember that night,
Under the moonlight and stars -
For it was then, you held my hand and kissed me.

Let me remember that night forever,
Beneath the moonshine and stardust -
For it made me feel as if you were still mine and the way we were.

Let me remember that night with a smile,
Let's not mar it with our sad good-byes -
For it was then I felt so complete for the last time.
