I Saw You

I saw you last night
With a girl
In your car.

Did you see me?
I wonder
Did you see?

She was beautiful -
Long, straight blonde hair
Thin, beautiful.

As I stared into your car,
Your eyes fixed on her,
I prayed.

I prayed
God would make a switch -
Replace her with me.

Did you see me?
I wonder,
Did you see?

I knew, though,
That God
Would not answer that prayer.

I was not alone.
I wished I was;
I wished he would go away.

Did you see me?
I wonder
Did you see?

As the light turned green
I took another look;
I laughed uneasily.

I wished again
For God to make a switch;
To replace her with me.

Did you see me?
I wonder
Did you see?

I wished you would look at me
The way you looked at her;
I wished you still loved me.

I wished you would touch me
The way you touched her;
I wished you still loved me.

Did you see me?
I wonder
Did you see?

I know now -
I guess I've always known;
It's over.

I'll never feel your love;
I'll never feel your touch;
I'll never hold you in my arms
The way I want to so much.

So, again I wonder
As I sit here all alone,

OMG! this is exactly what im going through! But sometimes you need to let go of that person. Its gunna take me such a long time to get over him but this is exactly how i feel! it gave me goose bumps when i read it

i think this was a great poems. it made me remember when i cought my ex-boyfriend now with a girl. it just made me wonder if he thought about me at that time at all

I think that this poem was very meaningful and also reminds me alot of my own personal life.

Great poem! I have a wonderful boyfriend right now, but reading the poem made me realize how hurt I'd be if I lost him! I've been through an expirience like that before, it was very hard to go through, but girls, you can go on! Give yourself some time and patience and the right guy will come to you, as mine did! hey great poem..i know how you feel..i thought i was like in love with this kid and we were gonna go out..then one of my good friends went behind my back and went out with him, i thought i was gonna die i when saw them together,i would have to hold my tears in.
