About the Poem

The feeling of obligation is something that is common in most relationships. I know that I've been through it and now that I look at it, it was because of that feeling that I was hurt the most. I gave so much that I can never get back and I regret that so much. I just didn't want to lose him. I still don't understand the feelings that I felt, as well as the reason why I did some of the things I did, but I guess some things are suppose to remain a mystery.

Why Do I?

Why do I smile at the sound of your voice?
Why do I let you take over me as if I had no choice?
Why do I let you touch me in places never touched?
Why do I like to have you around so much?

Why do I melt at the tenderness of your kiss?
Why do I feel like I could live forever like this?
Why do I put my heart in your hands?
Why do I answer to your every demand?

Why do I tell you leaving me is not your wrong?
Why do I let you know with out you I'm not quite as strong?
Why do I take you back even though I know it's not right?
Why do I feel like I should please you by not putting up a fight?

Why do I care about you even though you hurt me?
Why do I turn my head from what's plain reality?
Why do I try to hide from what is true?
Why do I still have these feelings for you?

you know why cuz love stinks! when you love someone you give alittle part of your soul to them and once they have that part you can never get it back. it is theirs forever. i know because i was supposed to get married recently and my fiance hurt me beyond words but no matter what even though we are not together i still love him because love stinks! any way this was a great poem and just hang in there! always smile tina
