About the Poem

I know Iím young, but Iíve felt the pain of loss and guilt more then youíll ever know. One night I was going through an old picture book and I just sat on my bed and cried myself to sleep . . . and I realized that sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words . . .

This Old Picture Book

I look at all these memories, and I start to cry.
I see things, I see people, I canít ever see again.
I see people who I have mistreated, and canít make up for doing.
I feel these memories are killing me.
I see so much I took for granted, and I cry.

I could never feel those feelings again,
I could never be there again.
I see things that hurt me, because I canít remember them.
I see myself as I was: cruel, stone cold.
I never told anyone how I felt.
I regret that now.

I see how brave I was at times, and how I backed down.
I see how care-free I was.
I see now what has consumed my life. . .greed.
So, now I look at all these memories and I start to cry.
These memories are killing me,
So now old picture book, good bye.

Great Poem you got there.I relate with it well. Life would be good if we could have second chances but unfortunately there isnt any. I know if i had I would have done things right. Well anyways All we can do is let fate lead our lives. It may be good, it may be bad.
