About the Poem

I wrote this poem about a girl who is my best friend. We have never had any romantic experiences, but through the years I've known her, I've fallen madly in love with her. She kind of knows this, but I don't know how she feels about it.

Jackie

play into this heart and soul
and it seems like we've been down this road before
and I don't want to run into problems anymore

scary as it seems we are quite well
the best of friends can often be hell
when you feel much more for the other
than yourself

and at times I try to fight it away
but your touch makes it stronger day to day
frustrated, I only push you away

how many time has the topic come up
between us , how much I love you
and you get scared, then we don't talk for days

silence ain't golden for this boy
I feel alone in the world without your voice
seeing your face makes me rejoice.

don't know what I'd do if you weren't around
my heart hurts at just the thought
but you never seemed to really care

what of us will become
I hope you realize that I love you, hun,
and I'd never leave your side

if it were my time

I too have a friend called Jackie and felt touched by the sentiment in the poem. The poem captured the feeling of frustration that you can experience in close freindship, particularly when it is someone that perhaps you can never really be with because of other obligations in your life. I found comfort in the words

Jaqueline. I wrote the poem to express outloud the problems that i was having with my emotions at the time. I was at a major stage in my life and i wanted this girl to move into the next stage with me. Sadly we discussed our feelings, and we are no longer friends. I dont want that to discourage those of you out there that have read this poem and find solace in its words. Express yourself. If there's one thing that i can tell anyone who reads or has read my poem, it is that you only have one life to live. It sounds cliche and is completely over used, but there is a magical truth to it. Remember that no matter what you do in this life, enjoy it. Its better to have tried, than to look back many years from now and say, I wish that i had. Thank you all for taking the time to read my poem and i appreciate all of your comments.

I cant believe that I found this poem. Jon if you read this I think that it is beautiful. You always were talented, and to think that you were so young when you wrote it. I miss You, and can't find you. so I'm hoping that you will see this. If you do, know that I am thinking of you and always will. I hope to see you again some day.

Dear Mr Macomber Your poem is very interesting and it has got a good end to it. May I ask you why this question which is why did you named that poem Jackie. Myself was very touched by your poem but I think you did it for someone your perhaps had some kind of love for. It is very nice to have a poem that name just has my name. Myself came across it by mistake and I was very surprise to found your poem on the internet. May I ask you why did you choose to write such poem. The words you have used is very excellent. Yours sincerely Jacqueline
