About the Poem

This Poem is about a guy friend of mine by the name of Brian. We have been friends for a while, but there were some things that had gotten into the way of our friendship and I wrote this poem after we were not friends anymore.

I know now that the reason why I have missed him so much is the fact that I love him and I have feelings for him. So this is just my way of telling him that I love him more then life.

Can I Love You?

I gave my heart to you
I set my standards high
I laid my eyes on you,
I laughed and cried with you,
I told you my hopes and dreams,
My Love and Fears.

My tears I shed all over your shoulder.
In the end,
I came to see that you were
the only guy I could ever trust.
When I see you,
my face lights up with aspiration, and happiness.
When we talk, I can feel the load unload
with soothing words from you.

I have the feeling of love in my heart.
In my mind, I say "You don't mean a thing. "
In my words, I say "You are just a friend. "
But in the deep end of my heart,
I think of only you

When I tell you my expectations of a guy,
You tell me never to fall short of what I want.
But only one thing stands in the way -
You are a friend.

Can I still love you the way that I do?

I feel
This describes how i feel about a friend of mine. I know how hard it can be pretending that you just want to be friends. I hope that you have the courage to call him and tell him how you feel. 5 years on and im still not confident enough. Id never want to ruin the beautiful friendship that we have. but i'll always wonder what could have been. I'll always regret the decision that i've made to keep my feelings to myself.

I FEEL THIS POEM BECUZ I AM IN THE SAME SITUATION. ITS MORE OF WE ARE BEST FRIENDS AND LIKE EACH OTHER BUT THERE IS NEVER A RIGHT TIME. WE TRIED TO CROSS THE LINES OF FRIENDSHIP BUT THERE WERE COMPLICATIONS. I HAVE A BOYFRIEND NOW & HE HAS A GIRLFRIEND TOO BUT I THINK ABOUT HIM ALL THE TIME & TO MAKE IT WORST PEOPLE THINK WE GO TOGETHER! IT KILLS ME INSIDE BECUZ I HONESTLY & TRUELY LOVE HIM & I THINK WE WILL NEVER BE TOGETHER! I JUST FEEL LIKE WERE SOUL MATES & HE LOOKS AT ME A CERTAIN WAY THAT MAKES MY HEART CRY OUT FOR HIM!
