You say love is the most precious thing in the world.
Why, then, does it seem to cause you the most grief?
You always seem to give your love
to people who will hurt you the most.
You are left crying yourself to sleep night after night,
hoping and praying that certain person will rescue
you from all the misery and pain that surrounds
your life - so that they could show you that there is
someone out there that can truly love you.
This person would want you for you,
not what you could offer them or give them.
You spend your days picturing what they would look like?
What their laugh sounds like?
But all you have to do is open your eyes.
I have been here the whole time.
I was here for all the good and bad times
and for the longest time.
I have stood and watched as you throw all your love away
on people who just didn't want it or deserve it.
It wasn't my place to say anything,
but I'm tired of seeing you get hurt.
So, now I'm saying something.
I just hope I'm not too late and all your love is used up.
