About the Poem

This poem is about the confusion that comes along with the feelings of love. It can often be overwhelming and without answers as to why these feelings become so strong within us - Doubt arises, and even with the doubts and questions...

What Do You Want?

Is there something
hidden behind that
quick smile and thoughtful
gesture?
I sense a hint of something
else, but I’m not quite sure.
Those eyes gazing back
at me - I wonder...
if you share my thoughts -
You couldn’t.
You wouldn’t be so far away.
Yet, in the midst of my
confusion
you continue to penetrate me,
and invade my
sanity,
leaving me curious
to know your intentions.
