About the Poem
I wrote this poem for my boyfriend when we first started going out; It's about how there never seems to be enough time when we are together.
When We Are Together
|by Julie Dean
Eternities between the moment
your last kiss ends
and your next one
graces itself upon my mouth
Lifetimes fill the silences
between the syllables
of the short choppy words
your tongue endeavors
to make me believe
but this is not enough
for it seems like only seconds
surround my anxious heart
when we are together
