When We Are Together

Eternities between the moment
your last kiss ends
and your next one
graces itself upon my mouth

Lifetimes fill the silences
between the syllables
of the short choppy words
your tongue endeavors
to make me believe

but this is not enough
for it seems like only seconds
surround my anxious heart
when we are together
