About the Poem

Across many miles my soulmate has awakened in me a passion that I have never before experienced. The following is an acknowledgement of that and an expression of hope - that one day soon those miles will be removed.

A New Life

Sometimes at night
As I lie awake in bed,
I can hear your voice
Echoing in my head.
I hear, "I love you,
I want you, I need you",
And I pray to God
It is all true.
Those are the same things
I feel deep down inside -
A love burning so brightly
That it cannot be denied.
Passion greater than any
I have felt before,
And with each day that passes
I love you even more.
So come to me, my darling.
Let us begin life anew -
A life where you have me,
And I always have you.
