About the Poem

The day my husband came home was the day my life began again. Without him, I was cold and empty. Even though he only stayed for a brief instant, my heart was full again.

At Last

A new day, a new sunrise
my heart is filled with the colors of spring.
The darkness that has filled my soul
has been replaced by the vibrancy of your smile
and the tender warmth of your touch.
I feel your heart reach for mine, and I know, at last, life is ours.
