About the Poem

This poem expresses the feeling of being apart from your true love, even through it was just a day ago.

Just A Day Ago

Just a day ago I saw you,
and when I close my eyes,
I picture you,
It makes me smile,
warmth overcomes me.
Now I must open them,
my heart aches.
I just saw you a day ago,
but for tomorrow I can't wait.

I feel as though my arm is ripped off,
or maybe it's my leg,
all I know is,
that a part of me is missing,
and that my heart aches.

I want to run to you my love,
and never let you go,
why does the days seem so long,
when I just saw you a day ago.

Every waking moment,
and every night I dream,
my heart beats for you my love,
may we never part,
not even for a day,
you're always in my heart.

I really liked this poem because it expresses how much you miss your love even if you just saw them a day ago. I know exactly what that is like and this poem put it into words. :)
