About the Poem

This poem most accurately describes how I feel when I get in relationships with men. Very often I don't have a car and they do, so they drive me around. It is also a metaphor for the position that I assume.

Drive Around

You shuttle me around
stop and start
my little pea soul
in a hollow body like a gourd
pick me up and drop me off
silent and dumb
crash-test dummy
