I wrote this poem for my friend, Sara, because she was upset about being "different." Also for everyone else who have been left out due to their "differences."

Dear Author, I am in a alternitive program called Options. A boy just left the program because he was picked on and called names that i cannot even write. I admit i was apart of that, but now that he's gone i feel so guilty. The point is that our teacher talked to us about how we are always saying that the regular kids treat us "different". It made me feel like such a hypocrite because it was true. We were always complaining about it, and then we go and be mean to someone in our own class because he is "different". This poem really helped me understand some of the feelings that boy might have been feeling. I am going to read this poem to my class. It's a beautiful poem. I think it helps people to see that they are special no matter what there skin tone is whether the have an accent or freckles. Whether they think they are fat or ugly. They are unique. Sincerely, Hannah age 12 Bob's 5th and 6th grade class

This is a poem sought without completely knowing what it was I was seeking. It's a poem that can be related to, and relate I do. I hope that you won't mind me sharing this with others I know, and perhaps one day I'll be able to write a poem that someone else has been seeking without intent.

I agree. No one person can totally be like another person. It's ok to feel self-conscious at times, but don't start to hate yourself or come down hard on yourself because you're 'different'. The person to dislike are the people that tell you it's bad to be different. Individuality is a good thing. Individuality is what runs this world.

This poem is excellent! It is a poem that many teenagers should read. It's important to treat others fairly - equally. I truly believe this poem is true in life.

The poem speaks out what alot of people who accept each other as they are, rather than looking at the differences in colour or religions or in opinions and ways of doing things. I'm one of those persons and the poem speaks that out for me. It's a very beautiful poem and I wish a lot of people could be more a ware of this issue.

I truly found this poem touching for I have friend's that have been a little different and I would rather be different myself then to be cruel.

This poem makes alot of sense. It actually opens up your eyes and lets you look at "different" in a whole "different" perspective.
