About the Poem

I'm not sure what state of mind I was in when I wrote this, but I know who I wrote it for. We all change, and it's a never ending experience; we forever remember the people we love and the friends we cherish.

Doors

A heart has many doors,
each leading to different worlds;
behind each of the doors lie many secrets,
most of which will never be told.

Although they wish to be told,
the doors are locked tightly.
The only key is the strength and will of that person;
and sometimes the person is too afraid
of what might happen if a door swings open,
revealing one of their precious secrets.

They never have the chance
to experience life, love, or dreams.
They never really become alive.

All doors are eventually unlocked.

It is true that the heart has many doors. I open one of my doors that brought a change to my whole life. It makes me to stay where I am. This poem touches me alot. I must recommend you did a great job.

Jen, Very well done! Isn't it true how many secrets each heart keeps. I know I have many. It's so difficult for me trying to let them be free because of the possible consequences it can have on my 'comfortable' life.
