Known

I wish to be revealed
to be opened and consumed
like sweet oysters on a platter
I'd like to be understood
like a deep read
like a classic
picked apart and examined
I would like to be chosen
for greatness
for fullfilled dreams and demands
I want to be tempted
with sweet ripe fruit
listlessly hanging delicious
the smell dripping
in the heavy sweaty air

I want to pause and take a bite
to eat my life whole
to swallow it down
gluttony of the soul
