Dad, Mom, Big Brother, And Me. |
| by Mrs. H.M. Hicks |
Hi my name is baby - that is what they call me.
I cry and I whine and I love to be me.
My mother melts when ever I smile.
She loves me - that is the true reason why.
I have a big brother.
He doesn't know it yet,
but we will grow to be the best of friends.
He loves me, too, though he tries to pretend
that he is the baby that I am.
I don't mind my father's love.
He is gracious and strong.
I love him, too, for he has blessed me with a mother
and brother who wants me
as much as I want them.
My family is my family,
and I am so glad that they are mine.
Love will keep us together through our lives.
We will fight. We will argue. We will disagree.
But the one thing I will always be aware of
is we will always want the best for us each.
So with that in mind, I will be given a great, great gift.
I will be given unconditional love
from my father, mother, and wonderful brother.
It is the gift that I shall always return to the people
I do love.
No matter what I don't have.
No matter what I don't get.
I have a gift that is no cost to anyone who enters my heart.
Thank you, my family, for your special charm.
