About the Poem

I wrote this poem a couple of weeks after my great grandmother died. I was with my parents, driving down a highway. I sat there thinking about life. This is what came to me.

Life

Life is a sparkling flower,
Flowing with colors from the rainbow of God,
Shinning with the rays of a summer sun,
But someday that flower must wither away.

I'm not sure what to say. Your poem spoke to me at a time when I am having difficulty believing that life is good. Thank-you.

This poem expresses exactly what death does to anything. I really like this poem and want to read more just like it.
