this poem had a huge impact on me. it stop and made me think, everything that is happening to me at the moment must be nothing compared to those children. i am 16 so i have the choice to leave and have more of an understanding, these children are only babys so they have no understanding and no where to turn. they think what happens to them is normal and happens to everyone. (thats what i used to think) i think its great that you have written this poem you have a gift, by making the public more aware of this problem in society you may or may not know it but you are making a huge difference. i hope i have made sence?? thank you
Carole
I am putting together a seminar for professional people dealing with child abuse. Your poem should be used and read all over, in every training program.

I wish more people in the world understood this huge problem as well as you do. Before I was adopted I was abused by my birth parents. I wasnt adopted till i was 14 so it went on for a pretty long time. I'm 18 now and I just can't believe how many people think that this is acceptable. Your poem is amazing. Thank you so much.
Anurag

I TRULY THINK THIS POEM IS GREAT IT SO VERY TRUE.. AND YOU KNOW WHAT IS WIERD? THE CITY I LIVE IN THERE IS A PLACE CALLED THE VALLEY, AND EVERYDAY THERE IS SOME KIND OF DRAMA, VIOLENCE, DRUGS BEING USED AND SOLD IN THE CORNER, PEOPLE GETTTING SHOT, STABBED, KILLED, AND ABUSED
Hollie
This is by far the saddest most hurtful poem I have ever read. I myself also write a lot of poems. But none of them could ever compare to what I just read. Excellent work! I hope it stops some of the hurt and suffering in this world.

I am speechless. That was by far the best poem that I have ever read. I know exactly what you are talking about to. Cause my friend sometimes gets abused by her father. But I am so lucky to be one of the few who don't get abused by their parents. I'm only 13 years old and that was the most beautiful poem that I have ever read. And it is so true. Children do get abused every day. I only wish there was a way to stop all the parents. And even then it is not only the parents it is friends, teachers, other family members. I wish all the hate crimes would just stop in the world. Thank you for writing this poem. It has put an imprint on my heart. That will stay there for as long as I live.
Lisa

The poem really meant a lot to me because I was once abused myself. I hope people that read this realize how terrible child abuse is and how it scars the children.

Megan
This pome almost made me cry. It is wonderfull but I hate the topic. (hey, it's child abuse!)
jessica
i just read this poem to my kids. its so heart breaking to to hear the about the violence in such raw reality. but when a poem like this is avalible for us to see it reminds us of how we must not ignore this fact that out there this second a child is being abused in in some unforgiving manner. we need to understand that everything we expose our children to could impact the child for the rest of their lives for the worst and its in our hands now to make a positive advance for the sake of the children starting with ourselves. we have the power to break the circle of violence. for the sake of the children.
victor
My sister was down the alley thank you, you made me think of her.

I really enjoyed this poem.I think that Vanessa did an excellent job.I was really touched by the feelings that were put into it. I am only fourteen years old, but I know someone who has been abused by her parents. She is one of my close friends who I care about and who I think will also love this poem because she can relate to it.Thank you for writing this poem because I think that it can probably help open people's eyes that many young children are being abused out there and that we have to work very hard to stop it.Again, congratulations for your excellent work.
Dawn
This poem is so touching, and it brought tears to my eyes, it is oh so true, and she knew exactly what write. I think she will open others eyes, if she keeps writing like this. I have pages on Child Abuse issues, and would love to see her do more poems on Child Abuse, too.
