Mrs, Burnette Your Poem Dad really touched me . It is trully beautifull and it is what i have been thinking but didn't know how to say it. My father died 5 years ago on hisbirthday due to diabetees and heart failure. He was my idol and I was his daddys girl.

This poem is wonderful. It makes me feel a little better knowing that other people are feeling the same way as I am ever since my daddy passed away in October of '05. I will be 25 next month and cant imagine losing my dad any sooner than I did. I am a true Daddy's Girl and never thought anyone could ever love their dad as much as me. Thank you for this poem!

i lost my dad on july 7th 2006. i am 26 yrs old. he fought lung cancer infection and finally pnemonia over took him. i miss him so much every day and i was reading poems and this one brought tears to my eyes. thank you for such a beautiful poem.

I would give this poem a 10 out of 10. I can relate to it but I lost my dad when I was 5 years old. I never understood why he had to leave me and to tell you the truth I was mad at him. Judy, Thank you so much for this poem, I have printed it on paper with a Rainbow streaked across the paper now for the 4th time, always with your name under the title. I have used it 2 times in its original form as DAD, but have also changed it to MOM, BROTHER, UNCLE, GRANDPA, and FRIEND. I have found this to be a very comforting poem for the people that I have given it to, and once it I was suprised when I titled it FRIEND that it was read at the Funeral Service. Unfortunately, I am using it again, giving it to a long time friend who Mother passed away today, which was her last living relative of her immediate family. I will be he[ping her make arrangements in the morning. AGAIN THANK YOU FOR A VERY WELL WRITTEN POEM.

I loved this poem simply because it reminded me so much of my daddy. He died March 11,2004. I was so close with my dad that my body shut down when I found out he had died. Although me dad is still alive, but life is full of the unexpected. By reading the poem, I could almost feel the pain went through by the author and wonder whether it's going to be the same for me when "the day" arrives for me and my family. I lost my father 3 years ago (I was 20 years old) to a sudden heart attack. I had no time to say goodbye to him. as a result my mother lost her mind. we have to take care of her now. or family has fell apart,all because we lost our binding thread. when I read this poem it touched my heart. I hate that anyone else has felt this pain but at the same time it did me so much good just to read it. thank you

i truly love the poem, i miss my father greatly. he died when i was 13 years old and every march 14th, i go out and remember him by praying and looking at some old photos of him with my family. even 13 years later, there isn't a day that goes by when i think if my dad was alive today, he would see how much his children have grown and he knows that he has grandchildren and asks about their grandfather constantly.

i lost my dad a week ago from a massive heart attack. He was 44. After reading your poem, you have said everything that I am feeling. I dont know what im going to do without my dad. He was everything to me, my mentor in life, my world. He was my everything. I dont know how im supposed to handle all of this. but after reading your poem, i felt as if someone out there kinda had an idea as to how i am feeling. Your poem touched me very deeply, and i can relate very much. Good on ya for having the strength to write something so sincere. Your poem was great. I lost my dad, too about 7 months ago but not to natural causes. He commited suicide. I was only 15 at the time and that's a very hard thing for a teenager to have to go through.
