About the Poem

God lives far from us, but in our longing for Him, sometimes we imagine Him speaking to us.

Voice

It is night
the fog is over the land

I am upon the cliff

I can see nothing
but I hear the sea

and it is like a voice
a telling voice

and I imagine
the voice of God

saying:
"Stay with Me"

and I keep standing
and I keep silent

and I hear
His telling voice

I was touched by this poem, for so often the voice of God is so very real, and so often it seems so far away. Good balance to the poem without too much sentimentality.

May God keep using you in wondourous ways. It's very true, sometimes we just have to take a while to hear God's voice, calling us, trying to help us in ways that we could not imagine. When will we take time, just a moment, to hear his powerful and almightful words? Listen, and you shall see things happen before your eyes in ways that you never had imagined before. "FOR THE LORD IS OUR FATHER AND ALSO OUR FRIEND IN TIMES OF SOLITUD, CONFUSION, HE SHALL INLIGHTEN YOU!"
