About the Poem

This poem was inspired by my innermost thoughts on how men treat women. Most men I have had the opportunity to become involved with, have caused me to feel this very strongly. I watch people and see how they treat one another. Someday, hopefully, I might be pleasantly surprised to learn that not everybody is this way.

Beauty

The beauty she holds
captures their souls,
so they claim.

They convince her they love her,
take many things from her,
and leave her empty and alone.

Her body they treasure;
her emotions they refuse her.
The physical affection

Leaves emotional reflection
caused by Betrayal, Abuse,
and Sexual Obsession.
