About the Poem

I see the river next to my house, moving from eternity to the present time. Sometimes, I find this river talking to me and then I find that my thoughts come back to me having the reflection of this river.

River And Me

Miles of smile,
spread all around,
The silence, the serenity
and the river abound.

Waking me up in the morning,
with your beautiful sound.
My feelings charged with emotions,
come back from your water, rebound.

O river! you are the only one, standstill,
rest of the world moving with your water.
Tides coming and going - morning and evening,
You are the witness to world's agony and laughter.

O river! today why are you so quiet,
no sound, no movement in this starry night,
Your thoughts, your feelings - one can never find,
Are you imitating my state of mind

I really enjoyed your poem. I love nature & the river so much that my son's middle name is River. Have you heard The Garth Brooks song that is one of my favorites. Very Good!
