About the Poem

This poem is just about a young brother and sister. This never really happened to me, but it made me think of how I'd feel if it DID happen to me and my brother.

Snow Angels

Snow angels dancing in the breeze,
Brother and sister fall on their knees.
They lay down in the bitter snow,
And figures of angels begin to show.
The pair giggle and smile at each other,
And each prays they will never lose the other.

Snow angels playing on the river,
Then the ice begins to quiver.
He lets out a dreadful scream;
She hopes it's just a dream.
She reaches out her hand,
But he slips away just like sand.

Snow angels in the white field,
A little heart looking to be healed.
She lays down in the bitter snow,
And a figure of an angel begins to show.
She lets out and sheds a tear,
Yet she will always hold her angel near.

I almost cried when reading this poem. My best friend got killed by a truck, and her younger sister saw the whole thing. It's amazing how well you caught the feelings with out actually experiencing them.

What an absolute wonderful way of puttings words on paper. Since my brother has gone it's been 6 years, your poem made me sad cause I miss him and then again I get the comfort knowing he never really left, he's there, right beside me, wherever I go....thank you for making me believe in heaven.....
Eric
Beautiful poem, quite touching. I've known her for a while and had the chance but never read it before. Very nicely put and hits me a little deeper as I almost lost one of my brothers once.
