About the Poem

This poem was written on a day when I did not have a lot of confidence in myself and what I was doing. I had to realize that no matter what I do, the only thing that matters is my dependence upon God and his work through me. In my weakness, I am strong.

Help For The Helpless

Sometimes it seems like everything
I try to do goes wrong.
As if the melody I sing
Won't fit the words of the song.
I know I must hold my head up high
And do the best I can.
For even though my plight is tough
Impossible is not in God's plan.
If there's a way to get me through
I know my God will do it.
And even if I fail the test
I know He'll get me through it.
If what I do is a disappointment for me,
How much more can it be for God?
But I've been told when He looks at me
He's looking through Jesus' blood.
And though my righteousness is as dirty rags
His righteousness will suffice.
He brings me to the Father
Because He has paid the price.
And I will go on living
Each day, each precious hour.
For in my heart I sense His strength
Is giving me new power.

I am the mother of a 29 year old son who is seeking and searching, with the help of me and my church we will bring him to know Jesus and his love. He is getting ready to be sent to prison for the 3rd time. So this poem is being sent. Thankyou

A lovely, and encouraging poem of how God is faithful in His love for us.
