About the Poem

I wrote this about a person who came into my life after another person hurt me very much. It's about the wonder of someone who is willing to clean up another's mess, merely because they think you're worth it.

This poem is great. It reminds me of my father, its kind of hard to talk about him but he was never there for me but he calls and says "I love You" and then he stops calling and it hurts me. So when I had my first boyfriend I thought he was going to hurt me so I tried to hurt him first before he hurt me and that when I known that he wasn't trying to hurt me but love meand slowly me heart opened and everything. So when I read this poem it hit me, in a good way.

Could You Be The One For Me?

Could you be the one for me?
Could you be my find?
Could it be, after all this time,
Fate is going to be kind?

Could you be the one for me,
The one to help me forget
The man that broke my heart, my soul
The man that haunts me yet?

You tell me that I'm beautiful
Something I've never heard
But the one still lives here in my mind
That couldn't spare a kind word

It's going to be hard to forget
And pick up the pieces he left
Could you be the one to teach
How to love again and forget?

Could you be the one to come
And mend my broken heart?
Are you willing to piece together
What another broke apart?

It won't be an easy job, you see
My road has been long and rough
And the heart that was once so soft
Is now shut, locked, and tough

But I can feel my heart open again
It's opening for you
Just come in, and love me back
That's all you have to do

I must ask you one small thing
Before we kiss and part
Please be nice and kind to me
I'm tired of broken hearts

i love this poem because i could very much relate to it. i was in an abusive relationship back in high shool during freshman-sophmore year and the guy i dated hit me a lot and yelled at me almost everyday. so when i finally got out of it i didn't date for like 2 years i'm 19 now and i have a new man and i couldn't be happier so i really love this poem, one of my favorites.

this poem relates to me cause i just got out of a bad relationship we went out for 6 months and he left me cause his friend told him i wanted to do something with him whenever hes the one that grabbed me, and it hurts knwing that he believed him over me but now i have this gut i just met about 2 weeks ago and he told me i was the most beautiful girl he has ever seen and that he would love to treat me good and this poem just reminded me of how he has been trying to keep my ex off my mind. thanks oo much for this poem.
