This poem means so much to me My best friend of many years who was closer than anything to me She left and I never heard from her again I knew she had to go but I thought that we'd never be separated Maybe I thought wrong or maybe someday well meet again
There are so many stories I still want to tell
There are so many I love you's left unsaid
There are many tears left uncried
There are many dreams left to fall apart
I miss our long talks
I miss the nights when all was alright
I love you like a sister, you were my angel,
Yet I wonder why you left me here to die
We were forever best friends-
When one fell to the ground
The other one was there to help her back up.
We healed our broken hearts
With a hug and a gentle smile.
We stayed up every night looking at the stars,
Giggling like little girls and having midnight talks.
You said you had to go-
I wished it wasn't so.
You said we'd always write.
You said it would be like old times.
I looked in your eyes as you looked into mine,
With smiles like everything was fine.
Yet we both knew well that this was our last good-bye.
We knew that we would never again
Have those long talks and play like little girls again.
We knew all the pain we'd cause ourselves.
I also knew that my angel was being taken away,
Yet we promised no matter what we'd remain forever best friends

I loved the poem because I know what it means to lose a friend. However, mine didn't go away but died three months ago at just nineteen years old. She died suddenly in accident leaving me alone and hopeless. I surely can never see her again. However, much of the things written in this poem are applicable to my situation

I feel like that towards my big sister. she is my best friend. we lost our mother in May of 2005 and have been without our other brothers and sister. she is all i have left and now she in leaving me as well. and i feel like i am lossing her forever. i know she is not the type to call or write this is how i know she will be gone for good. i am left all alone.

This poem touched my heart in the deepest way. It made me cry because I had a friend that was that close to me who i drifted away from. We always said that we would always be best friends n never feel uncomfortable talking to eachother. But after a year it seemed like just that happened. My friend had some very personal n heartbreaking problems that i helped get her through and she helped me get through all of mine. I miss her because i felt more comfortable talking with her than my own mom. I am now trying to gain that level of friendship back with her but i doubt that will ever happen.

This poem hit me really hard. It reminded me of a dramatic instance with my friend. We used to be inseperable, but then things fell apart so quickly. and i feel like this poem talks to me. explains things i feel that I couldn't express otherwise
