Though life can sometimes seem like an endless journey of questions without answers, if we truly reach out beyond our inner walls, a lifeline awaits us.
This poem helped me to explore this feeling of hopelessness, and reminded me that in these times, friends and family are truly, only a phone call away.

This is a very good poem, it says alot. My daughter is going through a very trying time right now and I am going to make a hard copy and send it to her. She has had nothing but hard times in her life. Hopefully this will sooth her and let her know that I will always be there for her!

My soul drifts aimlessly in times of hopelessness. It searches tirelessly for meaning and truth ... Yet finds no direction. My heart bleeds quietly in times of loneliness. It yearns to find warmth and happiness ... Yet it somehow eludes me. My eyes seek out visions in times of want. They gaze endlessly through the blackness that envelops them ... Yet they cannot see the light. My ears listen earnestly in times of silence. They search for familiar sounds to comfort and console ... Yet they cannot penetrate the darkness that surrounds me. My arms reach out frantically in times of despair. They seek strength and compassion to enfold me ... Yet they find nothing substantial to enwrap. My mind cries out desperately in times of solitude. It poses intense questions that demand answers ... Yet there are none to be found. My hand reaches out earnestly in these times of confusion. It dials the number of a familiar and calming voice ... And gratefully, my lifeline to sanity ... remains intact. |

I think that this poem covers many of the ways that many people in today's world feel because they haven't found their purpose in life and somtimes they realize that the answer was given a long time ago and they just had to accept themselves and take the right help and love.

It is 3:38 in the morning and I have just finished talking to lonly 38 year old son who is searching for a real love in his life. Jesus is the only love that we need at times like these when relationships (unequally yoked persons ) fail. Your poem does illustrate the importance of living, loving life the way God wants us to live. I did find much understanding, wisdom, comfort, and experience in your poem. I can relate to what is being stated in your expression of thought. I am grateful to you for your level of poetry writting. It is very truthful and honest for times like these.
