White Rose
by Walter Poe
In the storm
Stands the white rose
tumultuous waves
of destruction abound her

Yet tall is the white rose
strong in the face
Of the sensed doom around her
And she does not bow down

Pure is the white rose
In the compost earth
growing eternal strength
in the nights that so hurt

I see not the white rose
She is so far away
But I long to protect her
But only the words can I say

So I send her my words
And my poets heart
To help her when
there is hope to see her through

Be Strong little flower
Your heart will guide true
And as long as you want
I will always talk to you

I loved your poem. It touched me deeply because it remineded me of my very first best frined that I met in Pre-School. I didn't see her for about 4 years. We finally saw each other again in the 3rd Grade. When we saw each other we were so happy and joyful. Then, two years later, I had to move again and I haven't seen her very often since then. But every time I read this poem I think of her and I give her a call. This poem makes me think that you once had a very special friend and had to move away from them. Or either they had to move away from you. Anyway, I think this poem is just great. You are a very excellent writer and I think there should be more poets like you in the world that know how to write down words and actually make them mean something. Thank you for writing that poem. It's a very special poem to Rachel and me and it always will be.

to whom it may concern ? id like to say the poam was very nice in deed of the whiterose ive used the name white rose for meny year not just on computer in tocall ihave been a white rose for 25 years also not just a beautyfull name but also a beautyfull flower as a white rose ive sent whiteroses to all my pen friends a broad even iceland so im pleased to let u know that i use it every day i have white roses in my home . and well done to the pomes writer ;-)whiterrosejill
