About the Poem

I have a friend who has touched my heart and touched my soul. We have known each other since Jr. High, but we did not have contact with each other for 22 years. We had a close bond of friendship back when we were kids, and we have found that our bond was never broken.

Today - She is my true best friend, and she has been there for me in both good times and bad. I have never known someone with a heart as big as hers, and I am very thankful that I have her in my life again now. Thank you, Susie, for being who and what you are!

My Friend

You are my friend,
trusted and true;
And this is for everything
and all that you do.

When the light seems so far
and times are so low,
You reach out your hand
to give me a place to go.

When I find I can't make it
and the mountain's too high,
You give me your wisdom
and help me to try.

You've given me hope
in times of despair.
You do this for me,
because I know you care.

You make me laugh
when there are no smiles,
Even though we're separated
by the miles.

So let me tell you this,
My Friend,
If you ever need me,
I'm here 'til the end.

I give you my love
my hand and my heart,
And from your friendship
I'll never part.

For everything
and all that you do,
I want you to know
I'll do the same for you.

So, when your days are black
and your nights are long,
And it seems like
everything will go wrong -

I'm there by your side
you're never alone.
I'll be there for you
to help lead you home.

So, My Friend,
as you can see;
You're very special,
especially to ME! ! !

I love this poem. My teacher Mrs. Young is like this poem. She does so much for me and I love her alot. I emailed this poem to her and she said it really touched her soul. I love her and I know she would love you too.

that was a really great poem it really means alot to tell your best friends how you feel about them and you need to let them know how muuch you appreciate what they do for you in your times of need. when I get lonely and need a friend to go to I let my friends know what they mean to me and it makes them feel good knowing they have a really great friend like me.
