About the Poem

A few years ago I came to a new school. It was really hard for me because I didn't know anyone but my older cousin, Aaron. I really wanted to make some new friends, but there wasn't anyone I seemed to like. But then I saw this one girl sitting in the very back corner drawing. She was medium height, brown hair, skinny, actually very pretty if you asked me. Well a month went by and I didn't notice the girl often, I just knew her name was Sarah. For that month or so I thought she was a really boring person and had no social life whatsoever. Then one day I walked up to her and introduced myself. She was really nice and had a great sense of humor. I spent the whole day with her, and the day after, and the day after that, and so on. Well, its been 4 years now, and Sarah is my best friend. She listens to me, comforts me, and gives me a little laugh to lift up my day. This poem is dedicated to her.

FOR SARAH

My Best Friend

My best friend comforts me
and listens to what I say.
She is always there for me,
anytime, any day.

I know she cares for me.
I also care for her.
She's my bestest friend
and that, my friend's, for sure!
