About the Poem

This poem I wrote about the tragedy in Colorado. It is dedicated the students of Columbine High School, victims and survivors, and their families. May God be with them all.

Littleton

A shooting at school that happened last Tuesday
April the 20th, what can we say?
Two hit men with guns and explosives and all
So many were shot, so many did fall.
Fifteen now are dead, but thankfully no more
A tragedy that shocked the world to the core.
We wonder what caused this and what can we do
And why the people have this to go through.
An event that is on everyone's mind
But a reason for this we never will find.
The victims no one will ever forget
And prayers will be said for a long time yet.

I myself am a freshman, attending Columbine High School. Although the tragedy was almost four years ago, I am reminded of it everyday. But ALL of us are slowly getting over what has happened and we go on in life. I want to thank you for this beautiful poem and remembering those who were involved. Thanks.
