About the Poem

We find that at times guys seem to think more about machines than they do about us, and this leaves us thinking about where we should go from here...

Alone

A star hits and fades
As love soon does in my heart
Another then another
I toss them aside
They go back to their computers and video games
I find that I'm always second to a machine
They buzz and whiz and swirl
They don't give the love that I do or can
I am still alone with that urge to kill the machine

Let it stop and have time for them to know me
And me know them
I am still here
All alone
No one to love
No one to love me the way that I love in return
Spend a lifetime to compete with a machine
Spend a lifetime with ones who don't love me

I think that I'd rather just be alone

Please be kind enough to realize that not all of us do think more about our machines than people.
