About the Poem

There is a time for every season, but As a mother would tell you when a child gets his days and nights mixed up, We don't know when to expect the fury of what's intended. I hope this poem lightens your heart and gives you a chuckle . . .

The Nature Of Nature

It is the nature of nature.
to have four seasons.
Nature doesn't always agree.
And this is the reason.
Summer starts out chilly.
Sometimes you need a coat.
You have to break the icicles.
Just to float your boat.
Fourth of July, last year
Brought to me dreaded weather.
It was downright chilly.
I had to wear a sweater.

Fall is the time.
To see beauty at it's best.
But the leaves would not change.
And would not leave their nest.
Trick or treaters, had to shed
Their long sleeves, and their jackets.
For they would get too hot.
And surely have to pack it.
Winter time, last year.
I put away my snowplow.
Grass was growing big and tall.
I was still mowing anyhow.
Santa Claus arrived on time.
As years, he had in past.
But instead of buying reindeer food.
He just fed them my grass.

Spring, usually brings to us.
A time of flowers anew.
But instead, last year.
Snow, a foot or two.
Birds failed to sing.
For they were just too cold.
Winter time, was hanging on.
This is getting old.
Nature has, a mind of it's own.
Seasons coming, as they may
Bringing various weather to us
Calendars don't really have a say.
