About the Poem

Funny way to describe frustrations that help lead to irreconcilable difference. We all have had our times of trouble - hopefully we can survive them, unlike this couple

Happily Ever After Not

As we rode off in the sunset.
Our horse threw a shoe.
Out here in the desert.
What are we to do?

After we moved in.
To our castle dear.
The door fell off, the roof caved in.
Robbing all our cheer.

Buying our new car.
Filled us with such pride.
Brakes went out, floor fell through.
I sat down and cried.

Learning how to cook.
I burnt down the house.
Angry words were said that day.
I discovered you're a louse.

Standing in the courtroom.
The judge said to me.
I will give you what you seek.
Divorce it will be.

Hah, so much like life, nothing EVER works right

Had to find a humourous or lighthearted monologue or poem. After three websites and probably 40 others this one struck the right chord as something I could say and relate to

I like the title. And the poem too of course.
