I wrote this poem at a very low point in my life. I was suffering very badly from emotional hurts. Fortunately since then I have managed to overcome all those old hurts.
Like the last leaf on a windy Autumn day
I hang on, fragile but courageously
Waiting for the day to come
When the wind will stop blowing
So that I can be at peace
At peace with myself and everything around me
At peace with the world and all that it bears
Hanging onto a hope that is based on dreams
Hoping that my dream of surviving all adversity
Will finally be realized
But alas the wind is too strong
And like all other leaves before me
I begin to sing , so long
Sad and lost filled with despair
No one to comfort me
No one to care
No one to say, hang in there, be strong
So I’ll whisper my good-byes, and sing
My swan's song

i have been to hell and back for the past year and a half. i have had many low points. this poem is excellent! it described every thing i have felt, and espically the how alone you feel when no one is able to really connect with you or your problems.

very well put! it brought tears to my eyes, you are not alone Ruwaida we all suffer to our selfs. We all stay closed to the world, till now with this poem people should look at life in a different way this is a very strong poem indeed. Thank you for writing this poem
