About the Poem

This poem about pain is left hanging in the end so that you can correlate the poem to your own painful experiences (although, I seriously hope you won't be able to relate)

I Am

I am Death, before your time is up -
Eternal Life as you burn in hell,
the depths of hell that run so deep,
that even Lucifer, himself, forbids.

I am Pain, it's incarnations and elements -
those very same you paid with your joy,
the extinguisher of your fickle hope,
the fuel to feed your Despair.

I am the gamble you took with your life as the stake -
the one you now must pay,
the words you wait so long to hear,
yet dread so much for.

I am
