I was in school one day, not really paying any attention to teachers. I might not have been paying any attention to them, but I was definitely concentrating on something else.
I was staring into the eyes of the girl across the room from me (we had the desks arranged in a circle). I had always wanted to tell this girl just how I felt about her. I loved her, but I couldn't say anything. When I looked into her eyes, I wanted to spend my whole life in that one moment.
I thought, perhaps, that she felt that same way. Not when she looked in my eyes, for she rarely did, but at some time. The fact that maybe she wanted to spend her life in one single moment, as I did, made me feel less lonely. So, when it was late at night, this poem wrote itself. It's my moment. It's where I want to stay forever.
