An Ode To Someone Very Special |
| by Brian Mcgowan |
When your image struck mine eyes
My heart doth say "I Love"
Your beauty is simple - like a fire
My head doth say "all of the above."
To me thou art a special one
Now the sun emits a brighter ray
When'st thou break'est through the clouds
My mind doth see'st thee, every day
Thou art a beauty of the mind
"Alas an intellect" I doth say
Thy voice that trickles - Makes fixed unwind
Thou art an atom I doth love
To all the lists of clay
Those heard melodies are but sweet
And yet, those unheard ones are sweeter
Therefore ye soft pipes play on
And sooth thy picturesque image of my mind
"And now" quoth I "what to do? "
My thoughts hath always been with thee,
But now methinks "Not sure if I should say"
But alas, now, the answer lies with thee
If t'were asked, then best to be asked quickly
I have my doubts, and no courage to say
I fear to ask what thou must think
I bid thee answer "ye or nae"
