Cleopatra was so thirsty as this
When she prayed for Egypt’s ultimate bliss
The source of life which travels miles
Come wash my pain, oh River Nile
Cleopatra desired, and yearned the same
As the towns of Egypt just burnt like flame
Burnt for the cause of joy & smile
Come cleanse my wounds, oh River Nile
How I need more when you’re pouring lean
How I want more when you’re rushing mean
How I plunge into your crystal flow
How I follow where the whirlwinds blow
River Nile, My River Nile -
Your mystic keeps me dreaming
Your wonder fills my longing
River Nile, My River Nile -
Your power keeps me floating
Your healing ends my bleeding
Like a desert baptized by the sky,
Love overflows in me, My River Nile.
