About the Poem

What happens to us in the past is an important part of who and what we are. But it's still, nonetheless, the past. Only when we can put it behind us can we move on with our lives.

Past

Water under the bridge,
Flow away to be forgotten.

Water standing still below,
Stagnant, muddy bottom.

Water from the sky above,
Swiftly cleansing stream.

Water under the bridge,
Time again to dream.
