About the Poem

This poem is for anyone who has ever lost a loved one. If your loved one could talk, this is what they would say to you. I hope you find peace and comfort here.

I Want You To Know

A brief moment of darkness
was all that I knew,
before Heaven's Gate
came into my view.

Loved ones and friends
I had missed for many years,
welcomed me with open arms
and many happy tears.

All the hurt, fear and pain
that I have ever known,
is gone from my life,
I am finally home.

I gazed upon the Lord's
sweet smiling face,
and for the first time in my life
I knew and felt His grace.

I know that you miss me,
but please dry your eyes.
I will always be watching and loving you
from my home in the sky.

A cool breeze on your face,
a touch of light rain,
I will send as a reminder
that we will be reunited again.

Life on earth is but one
brief moment in time,
I am finally home,
Eternity is mine.

I am burying my 18 year old brother in law this weekend. He was drinking and ran a red light. He hit a car full of girls and wrapped his car around a pole. Only one girl survived. Four died. This poem brought peace to my heart after hurting so much for my sister who has to raise their baby by herself. My sister is only 19 and shouldn't have to pick out what is he is going to be buried in. He will never see his only son turn one and will miss his first Father's Day. We know he made a mistake and killed other innocents, but this driver had a family too. And his family loves and misses him.

My very close, older brother was murdered almost 4 years ago. He was only 21 at the time, but it is so hard to go day to day without him. He was the backbone of the family, and took care of his younger sisters. This poem has spoke what he would had said. Although, he did not know it was going to happen, he is and will over be watching over us! Tina A Beloved Sister

This something he would tell me he died due to suicide but it really does not matter how as long as I know he is now safw at home. Thank-you for sharing.
