About the Poem
This poem is about the deaths of my Father and Step Father.
My Father's name was Kenneth. He died when I was 11 months old in a car wreck while going to work. I was the most important thing is his life. I never got to really say good- bye so I guess this is the way I can do that.
My Step Father was Edward. He died when I was 13 of a Heart Attack in his sleep. He gave me the imagination I now have today by challenging my mind with puzzles and crafts.
I never got the chance to say my final farewells to my Fathers so I guess this is how I did it.

I Loved this poem it touched my heart! my dad passed away on the 19th of june 2003 i miss him alot i was only nine years old sometimes i just dont understand why god is so cruel at times!

Father how I miss you every waking day I curse the one who made you die and go away. I miss your warm hands and I miss the talks we had I miss the times when words were of no need and hope my love you'll always see. I wish I'd had some time to say how I loved you so but I never got the chance because it was your time to go. I want the memories back new and happy still yet I know I never will if you knew how much I cared I might not feel so sad and scared. My Father how I miss you so My Father I need you! I hope you knew about my love because its strength is always true. |

Hello. I really love the poem you wrote of your father. I too. lost my father that I was close to, though he was 78 years old, he died the day after surviving a heart attack. It will be a year tomorrow. June 16th. and not a day goes by that I do not think of him, and think of his affectionate ways as a father in my childhood and my childrens childhood. I recently had a new grandchild. the first girl. she has his beautiful light blue eyes. every time i look into her eyes. i see his. I find alot of comfort knowing that his genes have passed on to her. Thank you for sharing the lovely poem. of a love between a daughter and father. God bless

Your poem really touched me. I lost my father just this past week on May 3, 2006. He was a great man, a loving man, and just a real people-pleaser. He was stil young and it came as a sudde shock. He too passed away in his sleep. Causes are unknown as of now, but it looks like a heart attack. He will always be in my heart and I know that he is looking down on me. I love him and miss him so much.

i lost my dad in april of 2004 of lung cancer. I was very close to my dad and we talked everyday . We say each other all the time. I nearly killed me to see my dad suffer. I was there when he passed away. I miss him everyday. This poem really touched me. annie

this peom really touched me anything aboout fathers do becuz i never new mine evrytime he would come to get me he would run back to his car and leave me i never crie dso hard in my life that day he walked away from me when he saw me he walked away i cried so hard u could see blood from my nose my mouth and my eyes i hated my father ever since then i cant satdn himi will never meet him cuz he doesnt love me

Your poem was very heartfelt and beautiful. I must remark about the comments from the people that viewed your poem. There are so many that have had such wonderful relationships with their fathers and this is heartwarming to read. I have put my father to rest last December, he was 86 yrs old. I leave his judgement in the hands of a higher power. This is my only solace as he was extremely abusive. Bright Blessings to all.

THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY DAD, HE HAD A HEART TRANSPLANT AND NINE MONTHS LATER HIS BODY REJECTED HIS HEART. THERE IS SOMETHINGS THAT WE JUST WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO HELP NO MATTER HOW HARD WE TRY. I FEEL YOUR PAIN.

MY dad just passed away 2 weeks ago. I miss him. so many things i never got to say. Too many things i cann't take back. I hope he knows how much i love him. I'm sorry dad.

Thank you for a lovely poem. I too, lost my father when I 34 years old. I never said good-bye to him because I had just given birth with complications two weeks before he died. But, the greatest memory of my dad is that he had the chance to see my daughter, his brand new grand-daugher. It was New Year's Eve where we spent it with my parents. My dad wasn't feeling well, and I guess he knew he was going, because at exactly 11:30 New Year's Eve, I saw my father picked up my daughter and said "Dani, we're going to see 1995 together. " New Year's Day, he was taken to the hospital, that evening he slipped into a coma, and at 8:00 in the morning January 02, 1995, he passed away peacefully in his sleep. Tomorrow, (September 03) is his birthday, and he would have been 73 years old. I just wanted to thank you for that beautiful poem, it has helped me to not only think of my loss, but the beautiful memories that I have of my dad. Thank you again, and God Bless.

I have tears in my eyes! I lost my dad at the age 22 July 2nd 2003! I watched him die of cancer! From one brian tumer and surgerys he never stoped trying!He lost all speach and he was so full of life! He was the world's largest Fountain powerboat dealer for 6 years untill he was sick! Your poem was read at a dealer meeting in front of 60 people they loved it!I think about him everyday if there was anyway to discribe how I feel you did in your poem. it was great!

The poem was great. I know how the writer feels. I lost my father to a heart attack a week after my 6th birthday on July 25, 1987 and then lost a man who was like a stepfather to me due to alcoholism on January 20, 2002. It's painful, but I try to think of the good memories I had with them. Brief but beautiful.

The poem was very good. I kind of know h ow she feels. My dad left me when I was very young. I never wanted to see me. I now have a stepdad. I don't know what i would do if i lost him. i love him so dearly. he's the only one i can really talk to. It's a excellent poem! Ü -LaDeena 13
