About the Poem

This poem is in memory of my mother. Its about the journey of her long and hard life before it came to its end. She was a alcoholic due to early childhood abuse. The second verse is about her stuggle with alcohol. The third verse is when she gave into her desires and because of that her life was taken. When ever someone close to you dies you always ask yourself why. Even though you know the reality of your answer.

A Few Visitor Comments

it is a great poem lol ( laugh out loud)
Your poem touched me because I too lost my mother to alcohol abuse when I was just 3 years old.
After reading your poem I burst into a stream of tears. You wrote this poem wonderfully, and it has moved me deeply. I send you my love and I also share your pain. My mother and yours were in the same perdicument and you have found the best words to express how I feel. We will see them agian!!!!

Upon A Darkened Horse

She rode upon a darkened horse,
Who carried all her fears away.
Leaving trails of blood from her hearts remorse.
Not knowing what to say,
There's no longer a delay.

Tidal waves of stormy clouds pour in
As she cluntches her teeth tight.
Desires are fed off her adrenalin.
Striving to stay alive with might.

Thunder rips through her body's temple,
Walking her spirit upon shakey ground.
Now, flying free it all seems so simple.
Yet the sun decends and nothing is found.

What has this timeless journey brought?
All answers weaved and salted.
